Introduction |
Even though the Italian production of musical
instruments between '800 and '900 has been neglected for a long time,
yet it is now highly regarded.
As a matter of fact, the best Italian craftsmen worked in an unfavourable
socio-economic context compared with other European countries. However
they were able to develop extraordinary qualities thanks to their natural
talent.
So the present commercial estimation of their works, even if not always
indication of real value, confirms that their bowed instruments are considerably
worth.
